Here’s a quick guide to getting started with Google Apps Training.
1. Google Apps Training is accessed from the More dropdown
You will find the More dropdown in your Google Apps navigation bar, which can be found at the top of any page you are accessing in Google Apps (any Google Doc, Spreadsheet, Site, Gmail, etc.). The More dropdown should be the right-most option in your navigation bar. Click on “More” to reveal the dropdown menu, and then click on “Google Apps Training”. If you do not see “Google Apps Training” in your dropdown menu, please contact your administrator.
2. After clicking on Google Apps Training, you will be presented with lessons for each part of Google Apps
Google Apps Training offers eLearning lessons for each core part of the Google Apps suite: Gmail, Calendar, Docs, and Sites. You can click on any of the lessons to read a preview of what will be covered, and to reveal the “Launch Course” button which will allow you to begin the lesson. Here’s what you’ll see:
3. After clicking “Launch Course”, you will be presented with the different lessons of that particular section
Each section provides a short welcome and introduction video to orient you with what’s about to be covered. You can then go through the section lesson by lesson, or pick and choose which lessons you feel you need most. Lessons range anywhere from 1 to 6 minutes in length, averaging about 2-3 minutes. By breaking the material down into small segments, Google Apps Training makes the learning process more efficient and allows each user to train at their own pace.
